Vectorworks Spotlight is an add-on module to the core Vectorworks application that has been specifically designed for work in the entertainment and events industry. It is one of a number of specialist modules that can be purchased individually or in one Designer license.
For many years the focus of the Spotlight module was theatrical lighting design. In recent years the remit of the module has been significantly enhanced to include tools and commands that cover rigging, staging, and audio.
Spotlight Workspace
To use the Tools and Commands that are specific to the Spotlight license, then you must activate the Spotlight Workspace.
Spotlight Preferences
This is an important set of preferences that affect how Spotlight Objects interact with each other. You can also set some default Class options here which will save time doing repetitive Class assignments on objects that you use all the time.

Spotlight Toolsets
There are three Toolsets containing all the Tools that are relevant to the entertainment and events industries.
